Daniel earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2019. While at Cardozo, Daniel helped co-found the Interactive Entertainment Law Society (IELS) which was an official Student Bar Association funded club dedicated to addressing legal issues within the space of Interactive Entertainment such as video games and virtual reality. IELS helped facilitate events with guest lecturers such as Harris Peskin, Esq., a partner at ESG Law, the world’s first esports specific law firm, and Donna Fraser, Esq. who worked at the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). In 2021, IELS merged with Cardozo’s FAME Center for Fashion, Art, Media, and Entertainment Law. While at Cardozo, Daniel also interned with the Queens County Family Court, performing legal research for court referees and Judges, as well as the Community Service Society of New York’s (CSSNY) Community Health Advocates division, where he assisted low-income individuals with filing healthcare appeals, as well as insurance complaints, to the New York Department of Financial Services.
In July of 2019, Daniel sat for the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) in New York City which he passed on his first attempt with a score high enough to apply for licensure in any UBE jurisdiction. In March of 2020, Daniel was admitted to the New York State Bar, 2nd Judicial Department and luckily was sworn in right before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Daniel’s first job was as in-house counsel for American Transit Insurance Company (ATIC) where he worked within the No-Fault division for about two years. He then went on to the law firm of Rubin, Fiorella, Friedman, Mercante, LLP working within their No-Fault division for about a year. After leaving New York State to help take care of his ailing grandfather in Saint Louis, Missouri, Daniel returned to New York where he worked as an associate for Litchfield Cavo, LLP handling insurance defense matters pertaining to general liability, premises liability, and transportation liability. At the end of 2025, Daniel joined Shafer Partners, LLP as an associate in their burgeoning insurance defense practice.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys reading Sci-Fi novels (ex. Beyond the Aquila Rift by Alastair Reynolds) and Philosophical texts (ex. Consolations of Philosophy by Alain De Botton) as well as building custom computers.
