David earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where he focused on litigation and developed a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and advocacy. During law school, he was an active member of several student organizations, including Phi Alpha Delta, the Public Interest Law Students Organization, the Pace Criminal Justice Society, the Westchester County Bar Association, and the New York City Bar Association. While at Pace, David gained valuable legal experience through a variety of internships. He served as a Legal Intern in the Special Prosecutions Division of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked on cases involving domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking. He also interned with the Law Office of David Rifas, assisting with landlord-tenant, criminal, and family law matters; and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable
Justice Rifas at Ardsley Village Court. In addition, David volunteered with Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, supporting pro bono efforts to help tenants facing eviction.
David participated in externships and internships that deepened his understanding of civil litigation and trial practice. that he now applies in his role at Shafer Partners.
Before beginning his legal studies, David graduated summa cum laude from Manhattanville College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, concentrating in Criminal Justice and minoring in Philosophy, where he pursued a rigorous liberal arts education and developed a strong interest in law, public service, and social justice. He earned a 3.96 GPA and was the recipient of several academic honors, including the Vincent G. Scorese Memorial Prize in Criminal Law, Dean’s Award, and recognition on the Dean’s Honor List throughout his undergraduate career. He was also inducted into Phi Sigma Tau and actively involved in student leadership as Treasurer of the Prelaw Society and a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success.
David currently serves as an Associate at Shafer Partners, LLP, where he handles matters involving general liability, personal injury defense, and insurance litigation. He is committed to delivering efficient, strategic representation to clients and aligning his work with the firm’s values of responsiveness, precision, and cost-effective advocacy.
His strong academic background, coupled with meaningful hands-on legal experience, allows him to approach each case with diligence, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the legal process. He is committed to providing high-quality legal representation aligned with the firm’s values of strategic, responsive, and cost-conscious advocacy.
Outside of his legal career, David is a dedicated sports enthusiast. He enjoys playing and watching football and tennis, and he is an avid follower of Formula 1, particularly drawn to the technical mastery and strategy involved in motorsport.
